A few things to consider about the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL prices.

Storage Concerns:

It may be hard to imagine that 64GB is going to be anywhere near adequate. If this is a camera phone and it will be capable of outstanding photo and video, then obviously that will chew up 64GB pretty fast. Google no longer gives free unlimited storage for original quality photos so there is that angle to this discussion as well. But here is where more storage is more of a risk. It means that if you haven’t backed up your photos and videos and something happens to your phone such as theft or damage, there is a whole lot more to cry about. If anything, more storage might make you more passive and forgetful about backing up photos and videos to a computer at the very least.

Mobile games also might start to increase in size as those games become more robust which is entirely likely. If you want to enjoy some movies on your device rather than streaming, how many can you really fit on a 64GB device? You might have to clear off any videos and photos taking up space on the phone if you’re heading out on a road trip and want some movies to watch.

If you are really concerned that 64GB may become a constant frustration in the near future, wait and save money to buy the 128GB instead. A lot of this consideration might be based on your current phone and if it has been problematic in terms of storage. With these devices being easily stolen or damaged, less storage like 64GB can be considered a blessing in disguise.

Buy in Canada or US:

We’ve seen in the past that ordering some phones from the US and paying exchange plus duties ends up costing less than buying in Canada. For example, ASUS and the ZenFone 6 has been cheaper to buy in the US and ship to Canada. Better deals south of the border do happen. Warranty may be a concern but we will fully investigate the US bought Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL warranty for Canada warranty claims. If discounts start happening in the US is definitely worth a look and most US stores selling to Canada offer the option of paying all taxes and duties at checkout so you will have a clear idea of the cost you’ll pay and no surprises when it arrives. There really is no risk in that regard.
